Indian Valley Infrastructure Improvements, Phase 1 & 2
Town of Perinton, Monroe County, New York

Larsen Engineers was retained by the Town of Perinton to design sanitary sewers to serve the Indian Valley Development, a 1960’s era subdivision on the south side of NY Route 31 between Ayrault Road and the Erie Canal that was previously served by individual on-site septic systems. The project was split up into three (3) phases. The streets being served include part of Weyburn Way, Wickford Way, and Duncott Circle in Phase 1; Duncott Road, Oakwood Lane, Salem Court, Hickory Lane as Phase 2; and Mill Road, Blandford Lane and the remainder of Weyburn Way as Phase 3 with a total of 164 units. In addition to provision for public sewers, Larsen also designed new storm sewers to replace the original system, and full-depth pavement replacement, including new underdrains and concrete gutters. Larsen was responsible for Survey & Mapping of the site, preparation of base mapping, design of all of the infrastructure, development of an appropriate storm water management plan, assisting with obtaining permits, coordination with utility companies to identify their facilities and possible upgrades, and preparation of construction plans, including maintenance and protection of traffic plans. Larsen also assisted with bidding of the projects, and providing all construction phases services, including inspection. Design work for Phase 1 was completed in 2011 and began construction in June 2011. Phase 2 started construction in March 2012 and was completed in June 2013. Phase 3 construction was started in March 2013 and was completed in June 2014.

Science Building #15, Phase 1
State University of New York at Buffalo, Buffalo, New York

As a sub consultant to Bovis Lend Lease, Larsen Engineers provided design review services associated with the civil, structural and architectural components of the proposed new Science Building #15 (Phase I). Constructability plan review comments as well as value engineering services to reduce overall project costs were presented to Bovis Lend Lease for incorporation into the design review. Larsen also provided on-site administrative staff and part-time inspection of the on-going construction of the new Science Building #15.

 

Bridge Painting Inspection
Jefferson, Lewis and St. Lawrence Counties, NYSDOT Region 7

Larsen Engineers provided a Consultant Inspector on in the construction inspection of various NYSDOT projects located in the counties comprising Region 7 of the New York State Department of Transportation. This assignment involved the inspection of a contract covering the painting of 8 bridges in Jefferson, Lewis and St. Lawrence Counties in NE New York. The inspector was responsible for writing daily reports which included work completed each day and a record of payments due to the contractor. Field tests were also conducted to measure mils of paint.
